Food Pantry Report - May 30, 20024

Over the week ending with 27 May, we received approximately 2.98 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 3.24 tons and somewhat more perishable food to 333 families. (Due to donation shortfalls -- see below, each family received some three pounds less in non-perishable food than our normal distribution target.)

Shortages for the next two distributions (projecting 390 families for each week): (1) canned soup (short approx. 825 cans), (2-tie) canned vegetables (short approx. 550 cans), (2- tie) pasta (short approx. 550 boxes), (4) canned beans (short c. 523 cans), (5) pasta sauce (short c.492 bottles/cans), (6) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc. - short c. 450 cans), (7) tuna/canned meat/canned fish (short c. 425 cans), (8) mac & cheese (short approx. 420 boxes), (9) canned fruit (short c. 388 cans), (10) oatmeal (short c.363 boxes), and (11) dry rice/ beans (short c.334 pounds).

We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, Nos. 3, 4. 5 and 6 diapers, baby wipes, and adult diapers/Depends sizes small, medium and extra-large. With thanks for a recent very large donation of the same, please hold off for the time being on any donation of size large adult diapers/Depends.

Paper grocery bags (Wegmans or Trader Joe or Lidl size) and plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.

May God bless you for all your help for our work!
