We served 323 families Monday, September 2. Donations, in addition to individual ones (Thank you, including for the soup!) included from St. Mary's, St Peter's, Leisure World (Our Lady of Grace), Falls Grove Safeway, Trader Joe's (VA), Lord's Table, Damascus Help, Our Lady of Mercy, Crumble Cookie, and Spring Mill. Your financial support is also greatly appreciated; this is used to purchase the overwhelming majority of the non-perishable food we give away.
Needs for the coming week include canned fruit, mixed canned beans (red, black, pinto, garbanzo, etc.), and canned meat (tuna, chicken). Diapers (sizes 5, 6), wipes, Similac, Enfamil, are also needed. Plastic newspaper bags as well
FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT
St. Martin’s Food Pantry is seeking additional volunteers for once per month duty: Saturday morning (9:30am – 12:00pm) - food pick-up from COSTCO. Sunday afternoon (12:00pm – 4:00pm) – food sorting, shelving, and prep for distribution. A particular need is for strong-back persons able to lift heavy boxes, up to 50 lbs.
