Food Pantry Report - May 24, 2024

Over the week ending with 20 May, we received approximately 3.65 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 3.82 tons and about the same amount of perishable food to 392 families. (Due to donation shortfalls -- see below, each family received some four pounds less in non-perishable food than our normal distribution target.)

Shortages for the next two distributions (projecting 370 families for Memorial Day and 390 for the following week): (1) canned soup (short approx. 871 cans), (2) canned vegetables (short approx. 568 cans), (3) canned beans (short c. 559 cans), (4) canned fruit (short c. 521 cans), (5) pasta (short approx. 438 boxes), (6) pasta sauce (short approx. 400 bottles/cans), (7) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc.) (short c. 371 cans), (8) dry rice/beans (short c.367 pounds), (9) mac & cheese (short approx. 360 boxes), (10) tuna/canned meat/ canned fish (short c. 333 cans), and (11) oatmeal (sort c.164 boxes).

We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, Nos. 4. 5 and 6 diapers, baby wipes, and Pediasure, and adult diapers/ Depends sizes small, medium and extra-large. With thanks for a recent very large donation of the same, please hold off for the time being on any donation of size large adult diapers/ Depends.

Paper grocery bags (Wegmans or Trader Joe or Lidl size) and plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.

Thank you for all of your help
